Psalm 116:2 - I love the Lord, for he heard my voice; he heard my cry for mercy. Because he turned his ear to me, I will call on him as long as I live.
Thanks to all the Prayer Warriors for your faithful support of our family. In times like these, I realize so fully that I will “call on Him as long as I live.”
Preston continues to heal slowly but positively. He gets stronger everyday. He climbed up on my lap and pulled with both arms last night. He asks me to wrestle with him. He is able to stand on one foot, then the other and maintain balance. The physical healing remains miraculous.
On the vision front, we pray and believe. Preston definitely ‘watches’ TV now. He is recognizing colors in a flashlight device more readily. At times, he seems to have a good sense of objects around him. We remember being told that it could take over a year for the vision to return. We cling to that hope.
Please be in prayer:
- Continued progress with Preston’s vision.
- Continued healing of esophagus and intestinal tract, so reconnection can occur.
- Continued healing and strengthening of the elbow and arm.
- Continued grace and faith for our family as we navigate this trial.
Bless each of you. We love you and appreciate your unfailing love and support.
In His Arms and loving the Lord,
Ashton

I have received numerous requests about Preston Loyd since posting information about his accident on our site two months ago. The following is an update article.

From WCNC News
MOORESVILLE, N.C. — It’s an amazing story of survival. A 4-year-old boy from Mooresville is home from the hospital after being critically injured in a lawnmower accident more than three months ago.
It was April 22, about a week after Easter. The boy’s father, Ashton Loyd, recounts the day it happened.
“I picked up the phone and my neighbor said, ‘Ashton, it’s really bad. Your dad backed over Preston with the lawnmower.’ And that’s all I heard,” Loyd said.

A friend of mine sent this story to me this morning about God’s work in the paramedics who were first on the scene in the Preston Loyd story…
Enjoy!
Thanks for the updates, Rick. That little guy goes to the same church as one of my brother’s friends from high school. Darren told us about it when we met up with him in Asheville a few weeks back for the Casting Crowns concert. In fact, the band dedicated “Praise You in the Storm” that night to his family as the entire auditorium prayed for them. We have been praying for the situation ever since. The article doesn’t tell the full story–both of the paramedics came to Christ as a result of the testimony of the parents as they went through this horrific incident. It’s amazing to see God at work in ways that we wouldn’t ever conceive!
To God be the Glory!

My friend, Matt Childs, sent me this story. He is a cousin of Preston Loyd. I wept as I read about Preston’s accident and wanted to send it to you to share with your friends.
Please consider how you should pray and/or give to this family. Also consider passing this information along to your friends and ask them to pray.

From ESPN News
In late April, Kerr heard the story of Preston Loyd, a 4-year-old boy whose family attended the same Mooresville, N.C., church that Kerr and his family attended.
Young Preston had been inside the Loyd home watching television the afternoon of April 22 and ran outside unbeknownst to his grandfather, who was mowing the family’s lawn on a riding mower.
Grandfather never saw Preston — who had uncharacteristically exited the house through the back door — and accidentally backed over him. Below his chest down to his waist, from his spinal column over, the entire left side of Preston’s torso was sheared off.
