We were up early on Saturday to get to our Exercise-Among-Friends-Workout-Group. Then we were off to the Cracker Barrel for pancakes plus checkers and other games. And from there we went to Central, SC to The Merry Christmas Tree Farm to pick out our tree.
It was a blast! We had hot chocolate and candy canes, plus we got to hear the Clemson Tigers getting whooped by the USC Gamecocks. It was a good day!!

Haydn, my 6-year old, and #4171 in the pic, ran his first race today. He ran a 10:50 mile. I had the joy of running with him. He was so excited. He came to me last night, shortly after 11PM and said he was ready to go. He woke up, thought it was morning, and was ready to run his race.
Lucia also ran her first 5K today. She cut two minutes off her time. She was fantastic. Unfortunately, we had some camera problems and couldn’t get a pic of her.
It was a perfect morning with a slight mist and in the sixties.

How many dummies can you find?
Friday I took the fam to Old Navy. While Lucia was looking for a new swimsuit, I took the kids adventuring. One of the kind employees volunteered to take our picture. How many dummies do you see in this picture? My new best friend is wearing my spiffy NASCAR glasses. I nearly walked out leaving the glasses on his head.
The perfect friend
Our youngest found a true friend. She doesn’t talk back, play with her toys or crave mommy’s attention. Finally, someone her size who she doesn’t have to compete with. What joy!!
I do think the grip is a bit tight around the neck of her new friend however.

Occasionally I’ll sit with the kids and roll through the pics on the computer to remind them of things we have done as well as rejoice in God’s on-going kindness to us. This pic from a friend came up and I thought you’d like to see it. It warms my Redneck soul.
