She is too focused on self. Sally needs to change her attention off the introspection of self, and begin to renew her mind through loving God and others. Sally will find freedom as she learns to trust in God and walk in obedience to His will. Her intense attention to self will change to a thankfulness and fervent desire to please God as she grows in His grace and truth.

I discern a disconnect. There is no connection with her mother or father. Little connection with herself. She does not appear to have a connections with herself. She does not in my opinion need a book to read but a Christian Companion to mentor her. Her first connection has to be someone who can provide the possibility of connection by modeling a Christian life.
