Don’t Drink Water During Counseling

Last week I shared how I noticed hours after my session with my friends that my shoes were on the wrong feet. Today my friends came back, which is always a surprise and moment of gratitude to God for me. And during our time together this week I grabbed my trusty Tervis Tumbler with the child safe top on it and began to sip.

The wife noted that I was dribbling water down my front, which was a good, but embarrassing thing for her to say. I did not have the child safe top on snuggly and it got me wet. I’m quite sure my child would have not been in such a situation.

She also told me that she noticed my shoes were on the wrong feet last week, but chose not to say anything. She said she thought “he has the biggest honkin shoes because of the way they are curving out the wrong direction” but then noticed they were on the wrong feet.

I’m now creating a checklist of things to do prior to a counseling session. Hopefully, I can get that out to you soon. Certainly a shoe check and Tumbler Top adjustment will head the list.

I stand amazed at God that he would choose to use me. The more I understand his kindness to me through the Gospel, the more I am in awe of Him!
